Handrail innovation boosts workers’ safety

Safety on mine sites is imperative and a steel fabricator has come up with a way to improve grip on safety rails.

Acusafe’s Danny Klein invented the KAG Safety Rail in 2009 to reduce the incidence of slip and fall accidents.

“There are thousands of kilometres of handrails on mineral processing plants across Australia and this simple solution could considerably reduce related injuries,” Danny said.

The KAG Safety Rail has a unique inbuilt swage (pattern) that fits the shape of a closed hand and can improve worker safety in a wide range of industries, including mining and manufacturing as well as industrial marine, construction and healthcare.
